Searcys at The Alnwick Garden

Searcys, Britain’s oldest catering company, was appointed as The Alnwick Garden’s hospitality partner in 2018, marking a true homecoming; in 1837, a young John Searcy started his career as the pastry chef for the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Ten years later, and after receiving funding from the Duke, he went on to set up his own catering company, John Searcy and Sons.
Searcys’ chefs have created seasonally changing menus for the Treehouse Restaurant, as well as conferences and events. The menus use the best locally sourced produce available to create dishes that celebrate British classics with a modern approach.
The Bakery by John Searcy serves a range of cakes, bakes and light lunches in a welcoming café setting. The menu incorporates a combination of firm favourites, alongside Alnwick Garden Percy Pineapple Bake which celebrates the Garden’s heritage.
